Dissertation Project:
Communicating Consciousness: An Application of Cognitive Linguistics to Science Communication
My PhD project is an extended case study in science communication. I am developing a methodology—based on frameworks in cognitive linguistics—to better communicate the Integrated Information Theory of consciousness (IIT). I am collaborating closely with the Wisconsin Institute for Sleep and Consciousness, the main seat of IIT research; however, my methodology aims to be applicable to diverse challenges in science communication.
